Errico has a very important stock in Puglia, especially in Salento and one in Campania, Errigo is typical of the Reggio, Taurianova, Siderno, Cittanova and Melito di Porto Salvo, their origin should be the medieval name of Germanic derivation Ericus (Erik) , of which we have an example in the Gesta Danorum of Saxo Grammaticus: "... Ad quos Ericus: 'Inverecundus,' ait, 'est latro, qui prior concordiam quaerit aut bonis communicare praesumit ....".
