Fabbianelli, almost unique, would seem to be Tuscan, Fabbiani belongs to the area between Emilia, Tuscany and Liguria, Fabbiano, very rare, is specific to the Taranto area, Fabianelli is typical of the Arezzo area, of Castiglion Fiorentino, of Arezzo and of Cortona, with a strain also in Prato, Fabiani, much more widespread is present throughout the central north, with particular evidence in Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria and Lazio, Fabiano is typical of the southern peninsular, all these surnames should derive, directly or through a form hypocoristic, from the Latin cognomen Fabianus, normally attributed to the freedmen or clients of the Fabia gens.
