FANUCCI | FANUZZI

Fanucci has an Umbrian nucleus in the area of Gubbio and Scheggia E Pascelupo (PG) and one in Tuscany in the Montecatini area (PT), Fanuzzi, very much rarer, could be Emilian, should derive from the apheresis of the name Stefano we have an example in Pisa in an act dated July 1308, where a certain Fanuccius Ianuarii de Campo is mentioned. We find traces of this surname in Pisa in the 1300s in an act we read: "... Acta Fanucci notarii filii ", and in Siena in the second half of the 1500s with the writer Camillo Fanucci.
