FERLONE | FERLONI

Ferlone, almost unique, would seem to be Genoese, Ferloni is typical of the Como area, Lurate Caccivio, Bulgarograsso, Como, Olgiate Comasco and Appiano Gentile, could derive from nicknames originating from the augmentative contract of the term ferula (verga, sferza), perhaps to underline the custom of the progenitors to bring with them a stick, perhaps of pedagogues or tutors.
