Etymological origin of Italian surname: Ferreoli

FERREOLI

It seems to have two strains, in the Bolognese and Ferrarese and in the northern areas of Milan, Novara and Varese, this strain should derive from the toponym Feriolo (NO), they could both derive from the Latin cognomen Ferreolus, we recall Tonantius Ferreolus Console in 453 BC or San Ferreolus martyred in 304 below Diocletian: "... Quia cum esset apud beatissimum Ferreolum, iam tunc martyrii smell flagrabat ...".
