Etymological origin of Italian surname: Fichi

FICHI | FICO

Figs, very rare, would seem to be from Pisa, with a strain also in the Bolognese area, Fico, typically southern, has stocks in the lower Lazio, in the Neapolitan, in the Bari and Taranto areas, in the Cosenza and Crotone areas, they should derive from nicknames perhaps motivated by a tree fig tree in the family home, or even from the fact that they grew, harvested or preserved figs.
