Etymological origin of Italian surname: Gensabella

CENSABELLA | CENZABELLA | GENSABELLA | GENZABELLA

Censabella is Sicilian from Nissoria, Leonforte and Catenanuova from Enna and Catania, Cenzabella, almost unique, is from the Messina and Catania area, Gensabella is typically Sicilian too, from Messina, Enna and Catanese, Genzabella, practically unique, is of Enna, of these surnames two hypotheses can be formulated about the etymological origin, the first consists in a derivation from the name of Hebrew origins and before that it is phoenix, Jesabel or Jezabel which means consecrated to God, the second proposes instead a derivation from fusion of the apheresis of the name Vincenza unique to the adjective and name Bella, much less likely a derivation from the name Brettone Jezequel.
