LADU

Widespread throughout Sardinia, especially in the provinces of Nuoro and Oristano, it derives from a nickname originating from the Sardinian word ladu (broad) derived from the Latin latus, traces of this surname we find in the first half of the 1600s in the area of Scano di Montiferro (OR ) where a certain Giovanni Maria Ladu is mentioned in a deed of 1665.
