Etymological origin of Italian surname: Lange'

LANGE'

Extremely rare, it seems specific of Robecchetto Con Induno (MI) should be very ancient and date back to at least 1500, according to some it could derive from dialectal modifications of the German lang, but, much more probably it derives from a dialect nickname of francophone origin, as it could be the apheresis of the term boulangere (pastry chef).
