Etymological origin of Italian surname: Loprete

LO | LOPRETE | PRETE

Loprete is quite rare, it seems to have, besides the Calabrian nucleus, also a Brindisi strain, Lo Prete, always very rare, besides the Calabrian nucleus, it also has a strain in the Foggia area, they should derive from nicknames related to the word priest. (see Prete), but according to a very concrete hypothesis they would derive from the Albanian surname Prifti which spread in Greece in the 1500s and then arrived there in Italy.
