LUCARDI | LUCARDINI

Lucardi, very rare, has presences in the Alessandria and Genoa areas and a small stock in the Udine area, in particular in Montenars, Lucardini, absolutely rare, it would seem the Pavese, could derive, directly or through a hypocoristic form, in some cases from the name of village of Lucardo in Val d'Elsa, but the most probable thing is that they derive from the medieval name Lucardus, an adaptation from the frank name Leocard or the Germanic name Luckhard.
