LUCATINI | LUCATINO | LUCATTINI

Lucatini, absolutely rare, would seem to have little presence in Emilia and central Italy, Lucatino is unique, it could be altered forms of the surname Lucarini (see LUCARELLI), but they could very well, and more likely, be contracted forms due to transcription errors of the surname Lucattini, which is well present in Tuscany and in the Viterbo area, and which should derive from a hypocoristic form of the Latin name Lucatius, we recall with this name the Roman consul Lucatius Catulus who in 241 a. C. fought the battle of the Egadi islands against Carthage.
