Etymological origin of Italian surname: Morgnoni

MORGNONI

Morgnoni, practically unique, is present only in Melegnano and in the Cremona area, it could derive from a nickname originated from the dialectal term morognon, which has two meanings, one of which is foundry waste, which would bring the nickname back to the job of foundry worker, perhaps carried out by the progenitor, another one of millstone, which would lead to the trade of miller, or even more probably from the term morgnon (sly, quiet water, who works below), perhaps to characterize the behavior of the progenitor.
