Moscone has a stock in Genoa, and one in the Abruzzese, Latium area, Mosconi is widespread throughout the centronord, should derive from augmentations of the medieval name Mosca (see MOSCOW), traces of these surnames we find for example in Bergamo in tribunalistic acts of the year 1599 when Michele Mosconus, buyer of goods of Bartolomeo Colleoni, captain general of the Serenissima, sends protest to the podestà of Bergamo for the usurpation of the hours of water made by the count Francesco Martinengo of Malpaga, to Grosio and Dean of the city in 1689 Giovanni Moscone.
