MUCCHIUTTI

Mucchiutti, absolutely rare, decidedly Friulian, would appear to be from the area of Udine to the south-east of Cervignano del Friuli, it should be a typical patronymic form with suffix -utti. which stands for the son of, referring to a progenitor whose father had called himself Muchius or Mucchio, we find an example of the use of this name in a will of 1345, where we can read among the other beneficiaries: "..Item domino Mucchio de Odorisio de Thermis sive eius heredibus uncias sex .. .. ", or even in a Sicilian recording of 1394:" ..Item funt recepti eod die p quadam executoria Muchii de Landolina de tra Nothi carlini duo cessunt dno vicecomite pdto carl .. ".
