MUSCILLI | MUSCILLO

Muscilli, practically unique in Bari, Muscillo has a stock in the Foggia area, in Foggia, Accadia and Castelluccio dei Sauri and in Genzano di Lucania, Potenza and Forenza in the Potenza area, they should derive from a late Latin hypocoristic form of the Latin nomen Muscus, but it is also possible that they derive from a nickname originated from the dialectal term campano muscillo (kitten).
