PIANTAVIGNA

Piantavigna is a very rare surname with a small stock in Verbania, one in Verona and one in Rovigo, it should derive from a medieval nickname plantavigna (he who plants the vineyard, winemaker), we find traces of this surname in Ravenna in 1300 when a certain Biagio highly esteemed ceramist and potter in Sant'Agnese manages an artisan factory: "Plantavigna Biagii Ravennatis", in 1500 we find Giovanni Maria Piantavigna, architect and carver in Brescia.
