LO | LOPERFIDO | PERFIDO

The Perfido, almost unique, is from Puglia, as is the much more widespread Loperfido, which has a strain in Taranto and in the Bari area, in particular in Noci, with good presences also in Alberobello, Bari, Monopoli, Castellana Grotte and Putignano, Perfido, always from the Bari area, it is specific to Turi and Bari with presence also in Brindisi, it could derive from nicknames based on the Latin term perfidus (incredulous), which in medieval times assumed the meaning also of infidel, a fact that could also make us suppose a Saracen origin or Jewish of the founders.
