PETRUNTI | PIETRUNTI

Petrunti, almost unique, is typically Molise, it should be different recordings of the surname Pietrunti, which is more widespread and specific to Campobasso, the etymological origin is obscure, but most probably they should derive from dialectal alterations of the medieval name Petronzio, hypocoristic modification of the name Pietro.
