Acquarone is decidedly Ligurian, from Imperia, Savona and Genoa, Acquaroni, very rare, it would seem to be from Mantua, Aquarone is practically unique, Quarone, quite rare, has a stock in Albenga in the Savona area and presences in Turin and Pavia, Quaroni is typically from Lombardy, Pavia and Milan, Milan and Pavia, Stradella, Montù Beccaria and Travacò Siccomario in Pavia, could derive, directly or through an apheretic form, from the growth of the medieval Germanic name Achari, in turn derived from the terms ac (thread, blade of the sword) and hari (army), but most probably derive from the Hebrew name Acharon with the meaning of Last.
