QUIRICI | QUIRICO

Quirici has a stump in Milan, one between Lucchese and Pisano and one in Rome, Quirico is typical of Asti and Varesotto, derived from the Latin nomen Quiricus, of which we have an example in Gavirate (VA) in 1400: "... Augustinus de less filius quondam Quirici... ", or as we see in an act of 1327 in Piacenza:"... A castanearum, super which coheret a mane dikti quirici de Gualdrico, at Meridie Joannis de Salveto, a sero laboratur for Illustrisimum ambrosium de Aveno in Illustrisimo Domino Baldassare, at Nulla hora bartholomei dikti bertollus de Putheo.... "; We recall the Saint Quiricus of Lycaonia, martyred under Diocletian.
