Santin is typical Veneto, Santini is widespread throughout the North Center, Santino is typical Sicilian, Santinon is specific to Treviso and Padua, Santinucci, almost unique, is Tuscan, should derive, also through a further hypochoral form, from the name Medieval Santinus, of which we have an example with a certain Santinus de Folpertis quoted among the graduands in the year 1441 of the University of Pavia, in an act drawn up in Bergamo in 1510 it reads: "... mentioned sunt infrascripti bergomenses existentes ad were d. Rum Venetorum in End Dierum 15, Revertantur ad patriam eorum et opponant, quare not debeant confiscaries eorum bona etc.: Petrus Antonius de Fadigatis,.... De Ficienis, Maffeius de Carraria, Alesius de Marchisiis, Santinus de Marchisiis... "; Traces of this knowledge are found in the Comasco in 1600 with Dominus Antonius Santinus Lapicida (master sculptor).
