SCAVUZZO

Typical of the Palermitano, of Gangi in particular, but also Palermo, Enna, Leonforte in ' Ennese, Messina, Caltanissetta and Vita in Trapani, should derive from dialectal changes of the term slave to indicate who was in the condition of Captivity, in Sicilian dialect, the term Scavuzzo has several meanings, passing from the meaning of wheat, to the Ennese and Palermo of snail.
