Etymological origin of Italian surname: Sciale

LO | LOSCIALE | SCIALE

The Sciale is an altered form, probably due to a transcription error, of the surname Losciale, which is specific to Bisceglie with significant presence also in Trani and Barletta, it should derive from the name of a district of the municipality of Monopoli, which took its name from ancient Losciale farm, which owes its name to the ancient name Loscius, of Samnite origins.
