TAIOCCHI | TAJOCCHI

Taiocchi is specific to Bergamo and its surroundings, Tajocchi is practically unique, could derive from the medieval toponym Cà Taiocco, fraction of Sant'Omobono (BG). Hypothesis provided by Fabio Carenini the surname Taiocchi is for sure easternmost of the city of Bergamo. Safe attestation from parochial acts of the middle of 1700, present in Bergamo Alta. Of the Taiocchi participated in the construction of the Venetian walls (1500 ca.) of the city, with a position unfortunately unknown for the time being. It seems however that the presence is attested by the 1376.
