Vetturini has a strain in Perugino, in Foligno and Bastia, in Terni, and in Rome, Vetturino is unique, the first hypothesis is that they may derive from a nickname indicating the profession of the founder, but we consider the hypothesis unlikely, much more likely derive from An alteration of the surname Venturini, derived from the apheretic hypochorism of the medieval name Bonaventura (see VENTURA), with elimination of the letter-n-and doubling of the subsequent consonant-t-, a phenomenon quite common in the Latium dialect.
