VIEZZI | VIEZZOLI

Viezzi, is specific to Udinese, of Majano, Udine, Fiumicello, Colloredo of Monte Albano and Rive D'arcano, and of Trieste, Viezzoli is specific to Trieste, where it is widespread and of Muggia, should all derive, directly or through a hypochoral form from A dialectal alteration of the Latin name Vetius (see VEZIO) The Viezzi or Vezzi, originating in Carnia, were counted among the Venetian patricians. Additions provided by Giovanni Vezzelli Viézzoli is Trieste's surname. The handwriting Viezoli of 1521 passed then to Viezzoli in 1593, was imposed in this last form only at the end of ' 700 and as such continues today. It should also be clarified that in the Italian area Viezzoli is the exclusive surname of Piran and today, as well as in Trieste and province, it continues species in the Monfalconese and Goriziano and in the two Italian metropolises of Milan and Rome, as well as in other places such as Grado, Venice, Padua, Verona, Genoa, Florence, Rimini and Colle Marino of Ancona (where instead of Viézzoli or Vièzzoli is pronounced Viezzòli). The surname Piran Viezzoli has the name of Germanic origin Wezelo/vezeal or Wecelo/Vecelo (present at Poreč in 1014), passed to Vezolo, derived through various medieval Latin adaptations by the abbreviated Werner Wetzel staff.
