VINCIGUERRA

Present at Macchia di Leopard in Italy, should have more nuclei, of which one in the area between LaSpezia and Massa, one in the lower Lazio and Alta Campania, one in the Chietino and one in Sicily, derives from the medieval name Vinciguerra. We find this name especially among the noble houses, in 1186 in Pavia, a notary is signed: "Ego Vinciguerra imperialis classrooms Notarius interfui et iussu suprascripti Artuxii hanc cartam scripsi", in 1200 such a priest Vinciguerra and Armanno, sons of the Fu Alberto dei Lords of Lagneto have a quarrel in Vernazza (SP), towards the end of 1300, in Milazzo, in Sicily, there is a Vinciguerra de Aragon, in 1400 the Vinciguerra are Barons of Naso (ME) and in 1600, we find, in Venice, Scipione Vinciguerra of Collalto, as ambassador in France.
