Etymological origin of Italian surname: Zelioli

ZELIOLI | ZILIOLI

Zelioli is typical of the Cremonese, of Cremona, bishopric and Cingia De ' Botti and Del Reggiano, of Reggio Emilia and Scandiano, it is probably a dialectal form of Zilioli, much more widespread throughout Lombardy and in Parma, which should derive from the medieval name Italian Ziliolus of which we have an example in Pavia in a ruling of 1470: "... In Nomine domains Amen. Nos Ziliolus de Oldovinis iuris utriusque Doctor, Franceschinus de Castro Sancti Petri et Paulus de Castiliono Magistri Ducalium Intratarum Extraordinariarum et Cameræ possessionum... ".
