In this family we find Troiano Abbate baron of Gibellina who was senator of Palermo in the years 1499 and 1500; a Gabriele baron of Ucria, a title confirmed on 16 July 1453 and a Giacomo captain of justice in Palermo in 1581. Ignazio Vincenzo Abbate bought the title of marquis of Lungarini on 15 July 1723.
