Pal. Son.). derives from the Latin lixivia or lixivus or lixivius (cinis = ash) and has the meaning of liscivia - it. ancient liscìa (solution obtained with boiling water and wood ash, used to wash clothes: the ancient soap): sa lissìa in all variations of the Sardinian language (see the surname Lissìa). As said for Lisci and Lixi (see Lisci), in Latin there exists the glossa lix = ash. We did not find the surnames in the ancient documents of the language and history of Sardinia, consulted by us. Currently Liscia is present in 33 Italian Municipalities, of which 14 in Sardinia (southern Italy): Guspini 137, Cagliari 19, Arbus 8, Gonnosfanadiga 6, etc. The surname Lixia is present in 2 Municipalities of Sardinia: Cagliari 10, Guspini 8.
