The House of Mazzoleni, an ancient and illustrious lineage of manifest and time-honoured nobility, takes its origin from Vicenza and, in the unfolding of centuries, extended its branches into diverse regions of Italy. Through aggregation to the noble Council of Vicenza in 1766, this family attained the mark of nobility, which was confirmed by Sovereign Resolution on 1 March 1820. The Mazzoleni were anew recognized as noble and inscribed in the Libro d’oro della Nobiltà Italiana by D.M. 28 November 1899. To this house belonged Francesco, son of Girolamo and a countess Piovene, who journeyed to Maniago in Friuli as district commissioner of the Lombard Venetian Government and there departed this life in 1855.
