The Berzio family, an illustrious and ancient noble family originally from Pavia, boasts a heraldic tradition that has its roots over the centuries, being certified among the patrician families of the city since 1457, the year in which it counted distinguished decurions among its members, and was counted among those admitted to honor by the Majesty of Charles V. His nobility was solemnly recognized by the Heraldic Court by decree of 26 July 1787. On the same date, Giulio Berzio obtained confirmation of the ancient noble state by a sovereign resolution, and his name is included in the Official List of Lombard Nobles in the year 1840. He married the noble woman Giovanna Pertusi, daughter of Count Don Francesco, who held the high office of Royal Imperial Chamberlain.
