Ancient and highly noble family from Silesia, originally known as von der Heyde, but which spread, especially in the second half of the XIX century, to include the forms von der Heide and Heide, belonging to the ancestral nobility of Lower Silesia (Uradel). By the end of the XIII century, the family began to distinguish itself with Stephan von der Heyde who, in 1294, enjoyed the trust of Duke Heinrich of Breslau for his loyalty. In the following centuries, the family gained prestige, with members such as Johannes von der Heyde who in 1469 was appointed vice-captain of the Duchy of Breslau by King Matthias Corvinus, and Wilhelm von der Heyde who in 1603 became Marshal of Duke Karl II of Münsterberg.
