The noble Zamagna family, originally from Dalmatia and specifically from the city of Ragusa, was solemnly recognized in the title of nobleman for both sexes by Decree of the Prime Minister dated April 18, 1929, and with this dignity it is registered both in the Golden Book of Italian Nobility and in the Official Italian Noble List, in the person of Luigi, Carlo's son. His sisters are Margherita, Lydia and Marianna, while his mother is Maria Tacco, widow of Carlo Zamagna. Luigi counts his son Mario among his descendants. The bibliography concerning this illustrious family is mentioned by the Marquis Vittorio Spreti in his Italian Historical and Noble Encyclopedia, published in Milan in 1936, a work that collects heraldic and genealogical-noble manuscripts, kept among libraries and numerous public and private archives.
