Antichissima famiglia che si trasferì a Venezia nell'anno 982 e rimase del Maggior Consiglio nella serrata del 1297. Nicolò di Giovanni, consigliere, segretario e famigliare di Giovanni re di Boemia, fu dallo stesso re con diploma 21 giugno 1331 infeudato coi discendenti maschi e femmine della Villa di Noventa in territorio Padovano, di Zellerino in diocesi di Treio e di terreni in S. Bruson nel Padovano, cui fu aggiunto il titolo comitale. Questa investitura fu confermata la prima volta dalla Repubblica Veneta con Ducale 7 settembre 1658 e con successive reinvestiture ed ebbe, il riconoscimento con decreto della Corte Feudale 5 aprile 1845. Il personaggio che portò maggior lustro a questa patrizia famiglia fu Francesco che nel 1413 fu inviato ambasciatore per la Repubblica Veneta all'imperatore Sigismondo, nel 1415 fu alla Corte di Maometto, eletto Procuratore di S.
