Nobility crown De BlanquetCette famille tire son origine de la petite ville de Serverette où elle était marquante au XVIème siècle, des généalogistes voulerent la rattacher à une famille, dont les membres étaient qualifiés seigneurs de Tillers et Saint-Souplet, en Ile-de-France. Certaines branches de cette famille du Gévaudan adoptèrent même, à cette époque, les armoiries de cette famille, et les ont conservées depuis. Mais un examen, même superficiel, ne permet pas de retenir cette hypothèse. La famille est bien gévaudanaise, et originaire de Serverette, ainsi que le prouvent un grande nombre de titres originaux relevés dans les archives départementales et notariales. Aux XVIIème et XVIIIème siècles, la famille se divisa en plusieurs branches. Certaines accédèrent à la noblesse et produisirent des personnages éminents. D'autres marquèrent dans la haute bourgeoisie de la province. En 1539, Pierre, fils d'Etienne, Guyon et Denise, fils de Françoise, étaient membres de la Confrérie du Corps de Dieu, de Serverette.
