Antica famiglia veneta, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni del Centro Italia. Al dir di illustri genealogisti, capostipite di tal casato fu un Giustino, vissuto nel 1065, da cui discese quell'Oddo, giudice nel 1095. Conferma di quanto sopra affermato, lo rinveniamo nell'antica bibliografia, stampata in Firenze dalla tipografia delle Murate, nell'anno 1866, intitolata "Libro dei nobili veneti, ora per la prima volta messo in luce". Il 27 dicembre 1335, inoltre, Martino venne investito di alcuni beni feudali in Fiano. Tal casato, inoltre, in ogni epoca, sempre si distinse per gli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali.
