Cette famille qui a fourni à la ville d'Aix un grand nombre de syndics, consuls ou assesseurs, et plusieurs magistrats à la cour des comptes, était connue dès le XIV siècle sous le nom de Duranti. Vers 1539, époque à laquelle les actes ont commencé a être rédigés en français, elle s'est appelée Durand ou Durant, et au commencement du XVIIIème siècle elle a repris son ancienne denomination de Duranti, qu'on écrit aussi quelquefois Duranty. Elle a été divisée en plusieurs branches désignées sous les surnoms de seigneurs de Bonrecueil, de Montplaisant, de Saint-Antonin, de Saint-Louis de la Calade et de Collongue; la branche de la Calade subsiste seule actuellement. Claude-Jean-Baptiste de Duranty de la Calade, président aux comptes, prit part aux assemblées de la noblesse de la sénéchaussée d'Aix, tenues en 1789. Parmi les représentants actuels de cette maison on trouve: I. Charles-Paulin Duranti de la Calade, né en 1789, fils de Félix-Jérôme, ancien conseiller à la cour des comptes, aides et finances de Provence, et de Marie-Louise-Thérèse de Duranti-Collongue, marié en 1820, à Louise-Gabrielle-Françoise de Fortis; de ce mariage: 1° Marie-Jean-Baptiste-Boniface-Maurice Duranti la Calade, né en 1824, juge au tribunal civil d'Aix, marié en 1855, à Marie-Louise-Valentine Nery de Laurens d'Oiselay; de ce mariage: A. Marie-Jérôme-Alfred-Maurice Duranti la Calade, né en 1861; B. Marie du Carmel Pauline-Scholastique; C.
