Noble y antiguo linaje aragonés que tuvo su cuna en la villa de Fañanás (cuyo nombre tomó), del partido judicial de Huesca. Habitaron también en la villa de Biescas, de la misma provincia, y uno de sus individuos fué en auxilio del Rey Don Pedro I de Aragón, cuando la toma de Huesca. En el año de 1403 Nadal Pedro F., vecino de Biescas, compareció en la Corte del Justicia de Aragón con objeto de probar su infanzonía, obteniendo sentencia confirmatoria, pronunciada por Juan López de Sessé, en virtud de cierto privilegio concedido por el Rey a Pedro F., que debía gozar de todos los privilegios, libertades e inmunidades de los demás infanzones. En 1645 compareció otro caballero de este linaje, llamado Domingo F., ante le Justicia de Aragón, en acción y demanda contra el Fiscal de S. M. y contra don Antonio Altarriba, Conde de Robres y Barón de Sangarrén, Señor temporal de Arascués (Huesca), en cuyo pueblo se habían establecido los F., ganando también sentencia confirmatoria. En 1790 volvieron a comparecer ante la Real Audiencia de Zaragoza, por oficio del Escribano de Cámara Angel Elizondo, los de este apellido de F., residentes en Arascués, y en este pleito se compulsaron algunos documentos existentes en el Registro de Actos, obteniendo igualmente sentencia confirmatoria. ...
