Nobility crown GuesalaApellido de origen vasco, cuyo primitivo solar, con casa infanzona estuvo en el barrio de G., del valle de Ceberio, hoy villa, que parteneció a la anteiglesia de Santo Tomás de Olavarrieta y hoy corresponde al partido judicial de Bilbao. Fundó esta Casa en el año 1100, Ochoa Ariz, casado con Doña Graci Ruiz del Munditivar, tomando sus descendientes el apellido del nombre de aquel lugar o barrio de G., del que fueron Señores. De este solar procedió Pedro Ochoa de Guezala, Canónigo Lectoral de Avilla y Comisario de Santo Oficio. Por alianzas matrimoniales, los Guezala pasaron a establecerse en la villa de Ceánuri, también antigua anteiglesia, que hoy pertenece al partido judicial de Durango. Una rama pasó a las Islas Canarias, originando la ilustre familia de este nombre. En los primeros años del siglo XVIII formó la Casa G. en Tenerife, Don José de G. y Picaza, noble Infanzón vizcaíno. Fue Capitán del Regimiento provincial de Garachico. Había casado en Santa Cruz, parroquia de la Concepcíon, el 17 de febrero de 1727, con Doña María Garcés de Cabrera, con la que tuvo cuatro hijos, el primero de los cuales, Don José Miguel Jacinto de G. Garcés y Cabrera, que sigue la línea. ...
