heráldica de la familia: Miari
According to local reports, the family would have its origins in Vicenza, from whence would come the children of Felice Miari, who gave origin during the eleventh century, to the Belluno lineage. The first attestation of the surname refers to Andrea da Miaro, Captain of Feltre in 1110. been part of the Order of Malta and Antonio was a Bailiff in this order and its ambassador to Vienna. The family had confirmation of nobility with S.R.A. November 19th 1820 and April 13, 1829, in the persons of: Giovanni Andrea di Matteo and Fulcio and Antonio Felice. During the fifteenth century, the lineage split into three branches: that of Modena, still flourishing; that of Padua, extinct in 1787, and that of Belluno, which still exists today, and in its turn is divided into several branches. From all these branches came out very egregious men who distinguished themselves in the military arts, in literature and in the judiciary. Alessandro di Girolamo, known as Captain Rizzolo, became famous in 1553 for the defense of Mirandola; Aurelio-Agostino was reader in Pisa and Lucca and professor of civil law at the Sapienza University of Rome; Giambattista was resident in Spain for the Court of Modena. Not many families, even among the oldest, can boast a so valuable noble origin, the descendants of which, quite rightly, can be proud.
