Nobility crown Miguel RomeroNoble y antigua familia extremeña, cuya casa solar radicó en la villa de Quintana de la Serena, del partido judicial de Castuera (Badajoz). Fué su progenitor Miguel Martín, natural de la mencionada villa, hombre valeroso y patriota, que supo exponer su vida y hacienda en defensa de la religión, la patria y el Rey. Para premiar sus servicios, el Monarca don Enrique IV, por Real cédula fechada en Mérida, el 18 de Agosto de 1473, le concedió privilegio de nobleza, señalándole como solar propio la villa de Quintana de la Serena. Posteriormente, los Reyes Católicos confirmaron el mencionado privilegio por otra Real cédula fechada en Medina del Campo el 14 de Marzo de 1486. Nietos del mencionado caballero fueron, por una rama, Bartolomé M. Romero, y por otra, Pedro Díaz Quintana, llamado "el Viejo", los cuales litigaron su hidalguía en la Real Chancillería de Granada, y aunque el segundo murió antes de obtener sentencia, continuaron el pleito sus hijos Fernando, Pedro Díaz Quintana y Juan Ortiz Quintana. Todos ellos, en unión de Bartolomé M. Romero, obtuvieron sobrecarta ejecutoria de nobleza el 31 de Enero de 1607. Dicha ejecutoria fué presentada en las villas de Quintana de la Serena, Llera, Hornachos, Hinojosa del Valle, Los Santos, Usagre y Don Benito, obedeciéndose en todas ellas. Sacada de documentos oficiales puede establecerse que: Miguel Martín Quintana fué padre de Pedro de Salvador M. Romero, que engendró a Bartolomé M. Romero, que, a su vez procreó a Alonso M. Romero. ...
