Dans la Science héroïque, par Marc Wlson de la Colombière, grand ouvrage imprimé en 1649, l'auteur décrit sous le nom de Négrier, en Normandie, les armes, sans les écartelures, qui sont incontestablement des armes d'alliances. Dans la France héraldique, Poplimont donne les mêmes sous le nom du général de Negrier, en Touraine, celui-ci frère du lieutenant-général François-Marie-Casimir, qui fut tué par les insurgés sur la place de la Bastille, à Paris, le 25 juin 1848. Ce dernier, marié à Périgueux, le 9 décembre 1821, avec Jeanne-Catherine-Adda Dauriac, a laissé un fils, François-Marie-Elie-Guillaume Elzéar, né à Périgueux, lequel est mort subitement à Paris, général de brigade; le 24 juin 1889. Le général de division François-Pascal de Negrier, commandant actuellement un corps d'armée, est le cousin germain de notre regretté compatriote. Par une sentence rendue en Poitou, le 3 septembre 1667, époque de la grande recherche ordonnée par Louis XIV, la maison de Negrier a été maintenue dans sa vieille noblesse, qu'elle a confirmée par de brillants services militaires. Les armes ici décrites, sont la reproduction fidèle d'un charmant croquis trouvé à Périgueux dans les papiers de la veuve du lieutenant-général de Negrier. ...
