approved the contract between the Intendant General and Registrar of the General Tabellione in Sardinia and Gavino N., of Buddusò, collegiate doctor of laws in R. University of Cagliari; later, with diplomas on October 4 1777, were given to him the titles of knight and noble, transmittable to his sons and male descendants. Afterwards King Carlo Alberto, in consideration of his accomplishments and his distinct personal merits, granted him the title and dignity of Count, transmittable to his male descendants, by order of primogeniture. Belonged to this illustrious family: Don Pietro, who was Attorney General of the Supreme Court, and Don Gavino, who was president of the Court of Appeal and President of the Heraldic Commissionof Sardinia. The family is registered on the official list of Italian nobility under the titles of: Knight (m.), Noble (mf.) and the qualification of Don (mf.), Count of Santa Margherita (mpr.), in the person of Gavino, of Pietro, of Gavino. Family names so old, without any doubt honor not only families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious members.
