Hay dos familias distintas de este apellido; una aragonesa, originaria del lugar de Oliván (cuyo nombre tomó), del partido judicial de Huesca, y otra riojana, procedente de la aldea de Oliván (cuyo nombre también tomó) del partido judicial de Arnedo. Del solar del lugar aragonés de Oliván, procedieron las ramas que crearon nuevas casas en el lugar de Javierre del Obispo, del Ayuntamiento de Oliván; en el de Aso de Sobremonte, del partido de Jaca, y en el de Castejón de Valdejasa, que pertenece al partido judicial de Egea de los Caballeros, en la provincia de Zaragoza. Los O. riojanos pasaron a Navarra, siendo reconocidos en su hidalguía por los Tribunales de aquel reino. La rama aragonesa establecida en el lugar de Javierre del Obispo, levantó su casa en la calle de la Calzada, con oratorio y escudo en la puerta. Por el año de 1620 pertenecía a ese casal Antonio Félix O., que casó con doña Ana María de Cenarbe, de la que tuvo a Antonio Félix O. Cenarbe, que casó con doña Ana Orosia López, y fueron padres de Blasco O. López, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Isabel Urries, naciendo de esta unión: Valentín O. y Urries, José Antonio O. y Urries, Vicente O. y Urres, Blas O. y Urries, y María Orosia O. y Urries. Estos O. obtuvieron firma de infanzonía en 1645. En 14 de Marzo de 1723 ganó Real provisión de emplazamiento Antonio O., de Javierre. En el legajo donde está este proceso en la Audiencia de Zaragoza, hay otra provisión de emplazamiento ganada por Jorge O., de Javierre. ...
