Nobility crown RibellasProcede este muy antiguo linaje catalán de uno de los primitivos barones del Principado de Cataluña. Así lo afirman Francisco Xavier de Garma y Durán. Probablemente, originario del lugar de R. (cuyo nombre tomara), del partido judicial de Olot y provincia de Gerona. Mosén Jaime Febrer, en sus Trovas, menciona al caballero Raimundo de R. que sirvió al rey aragonés don Jaime en la conquista de Valencia. Dice que era descendiente de Gisberto de R., que era barón de Ballester de Gisbert, en Cataluña. Y añade: "Disfrutó por honor de la villa valenciana de Alcudia y de los lugares comarcanos; y en atención a su gran valor y experiencia en la guerra contra los moros, fue su voto seguiso del rey, por el singular acierto que siempre tuvo". Arnaldo R. era en Cataluña comisario de Lérida en la Orden de San Juan, en 1274. Ramón de R., caballero de la misma Orden, en 1298. Y Ramón R., también caballero de San Juan, aparece como comisario de Barberá, en 1319, y de Barbens, en 1320 Doña Elvira de R., hija del barón de R. y señora de Alcántara de Júcar (Valencia), casó rica y noblemente con don Juan de Vilanova Montagud, señor de la Alcudia y Resalany, en Valencia. En 27 de agosto de 1464 fue agraciada por el rey don Juan con el mero y mixto imperio sobre dicho lugar de Alcántara, que era de su propiedad. De oro, un ciervo de azur. Alias: Escudo cuartelado: primero y cuarto, de plata, con el león rampante de sable, y segundo y tercero, ajedrezado de plata y sable. ...
