Famille illustré par Charles-Emmanuel, baron de Rideberg, commandant de la ville du Puy et de la province de Velay (1766), maréchal de camp en 1780. Né à Chalon-sur-Saône, le 20 avril 1716. Fils naturel, non reconnu, de Charles-Emmanuel de Bauffremont, baron de Scey sur Saône, abbé de Luxeuil et de St-Paul de Besançon et de Marie-Catherine de Laval (fille elle-même de François de Laval lieutenant de cavalerie et de Marie-Jeanne de Wolfsdorff). Chevalier de St-Louis (1746), lieutenant-colonel (1763), il fut nommé le 21 mai 1766 commandant du Puy-en-Velay, puis devint brigadier de dragons (1768) et maréchal de camp (1780). Le baron de Rideberg épousa au Puy, le 15 avril 1782, Jeanne-Marie-Madeleine Exbrayat de Pralas d'Estival, veuve de Pierre-Joseph Pélissier, conseiller du roi et son avocat au siège présidial de la même ville, fille de noble Claude-Nicolas d'Exbrayat, seigneur d'Estival, lieutenant des maréchaux de France, lieutenant de roi au Puy, chevalier de St-Louis et de Marie-Thérèse de Colonne. Il mourut au Puy sans posterité le 28 avril 1785. ...
