Los R. traen su descendencia de las montañas de Vizcaya; tiene casa y solar cerca del castillo de Maderuelo, en el valle que dicen de Rico Yelmo, donde hay un lugar llamado R. vinieron a estas montañas de Francia con otros muchos que acudian en favor del rey Don Pelayo a la nueva conquista de España. Hay de este linaje muy buenos caballeros hijos-dalgo en Cataluña y en Jerez de la Frontera y en Murcia, que como en los tiempos pasados no se trataba sino de recuperar a nuestra España de los moros, los caballeros nobles y valerosos buscando diversas ocasiones de honor, vinieron a para r y hacer asiento en diversos lugares. Cuando Jerez de la Frontera fué ganada de los moros la segunda vez, el rey Don Alonso X, como consta de su crónica, la pobló de treinta hijos-dalgo, y entre ellos Beltran R. y Doña Polonia, su muger, y Bernal R., su hermano, tuvieron repartimiento. En el mismo tiempo vino a la conquista de Murcia Guillen R., y fué uno de los caballeros pobladores, con repartimiento de tal, como se ve en el libro de la poblacion de esta ciudad. Deste descendieron otros muchos, que como caballeros principales, gozaron de los oficios públicos que por privilegios de los reyes se repartian en esta ciudad. El año de 1335 Guillen R. fué jurado de los hijos-dalgo. Francisco R. fué alcalde el año 1382. Juan R., año 1380, tuvo comision del rey Don Juan I para hacer meter todos los bastimentos que estaban en casares abiertos dentro de las ciudades y villas muradas. ...
