La tradition fait venir cette famille d'Espagne fuyant la persécution pour une cause politique.I. Le premier connu est François qui arrivant d'Espagne se serait établi à Aramon, en 1615, puis au Bourg-Saint-Andéol, où il se fixa en y épousant Catherine Gaillard qui lui apporta une belle fortune et la maison située près l'église Saint-Andéol. De ce mariage vinrent trois enfants: Claude, Pol et Ysabeau mariée deux fois: 1° à Jacques Fleugère; 2° à Henri Breton, notaire. II. Claude Saladin épousa, le 9 décembre 1653, anne Sévénié, leurs enfants furent: François II, André, prêtre tonsuré le 22 septembre 1685; Catherine mariée à Jean Madier; Marie qui épousa, le 11 avril 1681, Simon Domergue, de Saint-Marcel, et Thérèse mariée à Nicolas Giraud, avocat en Parlement, juge général des terres de l'évêque de Viviers. III. François II Saladin épousa, le 21 février 1697, Marie Drivet, fille de Pierre chirurgien et de Jeanne Riffard d'où vint entre autres: IV. Pierre-Augustin Saladin de Chauras et de la Touche avocat en Parlement, juge du Bourg et de Saint-Marcel. Il épousa, en 1743, Thérèse Meunier; en 1750 il acquit un droit de sépulture dans la chapelle du Saint-Esprit, à Saint-Andéol, de Jean de Gors. Le 24 mars 1750, il passa reconnaissance à Monsieur Frère de Pourroy de l'Auberivière, chevalier de Saint-Jean-de-Jérusalem, commandeur de Jalès, pour une terre appelée la Galiberte ou l'Hospitale au delà du Rhône, Il laissa cinq enfants, entre autres: V. Charles-Augustin, chevalier de Saint-Louis, enseigne le 4 août 1771, lieutenant le 17 août 1775, incarcéré pendant la terreur dans la maison du Grand-Séminaire de Viviers avec sa femme et son fils qu'elle nourissait. Il avait épousé, en 1788, étant officier aux grenadiers royaux du Languedoc, Marie-Emilie Imbert Colomès, de Lyon et mourut en 1825, laissant trois enfants: une fille et deux fils. Louis, célibataire, officier supérieur de génie et Eugène, marié à 1° Mlle de Sallmar et 2° à Mlle Yrène d'Anglezy dont deux filles: Isabelle, marié à Maurice de Montravel en 1865 a deux enfants. ...
